“I had the pleasure of managing and working with Matteo at the start of his journey as a design leader. Matteo took to this role naturally when he took over leadership of our UX Hub, in his first 3 months he defined and led an initiative to upskill designers at all levels in UX research methods, he partnered with usertesting . com to facilitate a series of hands on learning sessions to engage the team, defined governance and a support channel to ensure that research conducted would provide high quality insights for the business.

Matteo brought strategic thinking and collaboration to this role,  he designed and facilitated a multi-day design sprint  bringing together key stakeholders from around the business to collaborate this resulted in a strategy to bring a human centred approach to OVO’s collections experience.

In his early experience as a people leader, Matteo had to deal with some difficult and sensitive subjects, he approached every situation with empathy and pragmatism. He put the person first in every situation, including the management of complex performance issues in his team. During the recent restructure Matteo leant in without hesitation to support his team, putting them first even though his role was also at risk.

Matteo has more than demonstrated his natural abilities to lead, leading the operations of an essential function, leading strategy in complex business area and bringing a human centered approach to people leadership.
